Wine + Art Weekend

Overview

The Wine + Art Walk is an annual event organized by the San Marcos Main Street Program. The program aims to preserve and create history, culture, art and music in downtownSan Marcos through events such as Wine + Art Weekend. In an effort to bring more awareness to the emerging art district, Wine + Art Weekend celebrates the culture and live music that make San Marcos unique. This is the promotion campaign created for the event.


Branding

The inspiration for the branding of this event came from the watercolor graphic. I decided to represent it in a different way this year while keeping within the parameters set by Main Street of using this graphic. The color palette, and basic imagery are all derived from this original graphic.


The Flyer

Parts of this flyer were made separately and put together to tie the brand and spirit of Wine + Art Walk.  To add an element of playfulness, the decision was made to incorporate a color by numbers image into the flyer. On the front side the map was created to help the customer find the stops as well as designate a color to each stop that ties into the activity on the back.  The color by numbers image on the back was derived from the watercolor wine glass used across the advertising for this event. The end result is that every participant gets to create and take away their own piece of art from the walk.
