Overview
The Annual Mailer is a repository of information & resources that is catered to the business and property owners of downtown San Marcos. It is used as a resource for current businesses & property owners, as well as an introductory guide for any new businesses that join the downtown San Marcos community throughout the year. In previous years the mailer was in a simple spiral bound format, that was looked at once and stored away. The aim for this years' mailer was to create it in a format that was more interactive and engaged the viewer.
The design was inspired by the nickname for our Downtown which is ‘The Square’. The format allows many ways to digest the information: as a pop-up book, long format or as a wall banner. In past years, mailers were seen once and stored on a shelf only to be pulled by the stakeholders on an as-needed basis. This year, mailers have been featured on store counter tops and pinned to the walls. Community members helped to assemble and deliver the mailers which helped to educate on the work of Main Street. Many reported that when the mailer was presented, the accordion display was a great conversation piece and allowed more interaction than a usual visit to distribute information.

Production & Branding
The Annual Mailer is a squash book. It is 5.5 inches square folded up; 5.5 in. x 8.5 in, including the sign up card insert. Expanded it becomes 46.5 inches x 15.5 inches.
